Dear colleague

We would like to invite you to participate in the following study: “Study on the Management of Patients with Adrenal Crisis or at Risk of Adrenal Crisis in Belgian Emergency Departments.”  This study has been approved by the R-Aiders steering committee.

Adrenal crisis is a life-threatening emergency that requires prompt and adequate treatment with urgent stress-dose hydrocortisone. To date, however, there is limited research regarding the current management of these patients or the implementation of medical alert systems for individuals receiving chronic glucocorticoid therapy in Belgium. Therefore, a questionnaire was developed by members of the BESEDIM, BES and BELSPEED.

This questionnaire consists of 47 items covering demographics, emergency department operations, management of adrenal crisis, and specific clinical scenarios. Completion of the questionnaire is expected to take approximately 15 minutes.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate current preventive and therapeutic approaches for patients experiencing or at risk of adrenal crisis in Belgian emergency departments. Our goal is to identify potential areas for improvement in patient care and management strategies.

Attached you will find the general study information, as well as a link to the questionnaire. If you agree to participate, we kindly ask you to complete the electronic consent form included in the questionnaire:
